Roles and Responsibilities

Detail Description: Key Responsibilities: 1) Responsible for design of physical and technical architectures for different Data Management Layers (ODS’s, DWH, and Data Marts) for various sizes and flavors, while keeping to the solution framework and blueprint. 2) Provide thought leadership to the organization by assessing architectures and proactively interpreting the future trends in technology. 3) Interacts with Local IT teams in scoping out requirements, designing flexible solutions within framework and blueprint; responsible for overall quality of the process and technology delivery for the DWH. May need to travel to individual local countries. 4) Designs and maintains schema model for Data Depot, ODS, IDW, and Data marts; review schema model with Business Analyst and System Architect; develop legacy & data migration requirements. 5) Evaluates and recommends new and enhanced infrastructure including Hardware (servers, network technology, mobile computing devices, etc), OS, middleware, development tools and methodologies and business application products. 6) Maintains and enforces software development and technical standards that are consistent with the company quality standards and application frameworks. This should include the ability to explain the standards to others as well as provide input for changes to the standard as the technical posture of the company changes. 7) Maintains a consistent and high quality approach by following the systems development life cycle. 8) Ensures the quality of the technical implementation through validation of the technical design and the completeness of documentation and procedures for the architecture, design, development, installation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and projects. 9) Coordinate and guide offsite vendor resources to achieve some of the deliverables 10) Provides guidance and input in to integration requirements and models for data distribution and mapping. 11) Defines, documents and resolves all business related issues Works with other team leaders to develop detail plans and requirements Desired Candidate Experience: 1) Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or MCA. 2) Overall 12+ years of industry experience 3) Proven interpersonal, written/verbal communication skills 4) Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, cross-business, cross-cultural setting 5) Understanding of technical architecture in order to provide quality solutions 6) 10+ years experience in Data Warehousing, Applications 7) Development, Technical Services, Business Analysis 8) Expert knowledge of in two or more ETL/BI technologies like – Informatica, Abnitio, OWB, Business Objects, Cognos, Brio, Oracle PL/SQL etc. 9) Broad understanding of systems architecture and development lifecycles 10) Experience of structured / formal methods, Object and Process Modeling 11) Experience of CASE based Modeling and Design (e.g.Erwin, Oracle Designer) 12) Ability to work independently and take responsibility for quality of delivery 13) Proficient in Process Modeling and Object Modeling
